The Green Machine considers it their mission to embody and support the spirit and goals of FIRST. We are a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics team from Geneseo High School in Geneseo, Illinois. We compete in the FTC competitions, where we design, build, and program robots to complete various challenges.
Last year, The Green Machine achieved an impressive 11th place out of 29 teams at the FIRST Tech Challenge Regional competition. The team also earned 2nd Place for the Think Award, honoring their commitment to the engineering process.

The Think Award honours the team whose engineering notebook best records the journey from a blank page to a working robot. Judges read the notebook and ask why each decision was made, what was tried first, and what was learned when it failed. It is the one award that cannot be won by scoring well.
